Actress Robyn Griggs passed away this weekend, she was 49.
Griggs, who held roles in hit soap operas like One Life to Live and Another World according to IMDB, had been battling cervical cancer for some time prior to her passing. And her fight was one that the actress remained transparent about on social media up until her death.
In a devastating message shared to Facebook on Aug. 11, a spokesperson for the actress updated her followers to let them know her condition had worsened and she would be moved to hospice.
“It is with deep sadness that we share the news from Robyn’s Father [sic] that Robyn will enter hospice care today or tomorrow. She has fought with determination, strength, and grace that is nothing short of inspirational. Please continue keep Robyn and her family in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.”
Just a few days later, on Aug. 13, representatives for the star posthumously announced her death on her Facebook page.
The post read: “With a heavy heart, I am saddened to announce Robyn’s passing. However, she is no longer suffering and would want us to remember that and the good memories. I will never forget how open she was to telling her story, and accepting of me helping her tell it. She wanted to help people and spread the word of her story to do it. I was honored to do so. RIP my friend, I love you and smile when I think of you.”

Reps later followed up with a second in-memoriam post and shared a few of their favorite photos of the actress alongside the caption, “RIP beautiful.”
In Sept. of 2021, Griggs opened up about her battle with stage four endocervical adeno cancer and how she vowed to not let the disease stop her from remaining positive and living her life, in an interview with Call Me Adam.
In it, the actress left readers with an inspiring message that in part, read: “Enjoy your life. Enjoy it for you. It will help your situation, but also help the people fighting with you.”
