This summer we saw a wave of COVID-19 cases. The prevalent variants were more communicable but less deadly. As summer turned into fall, we have been expecting an uptick in cases. Over the last months we have been seeing a decrease in cases and deaths.
Today at work, there was a notable increase in positive COVID PCR test results. Certainly not official research, but I have witnessed through the pandemic, what happens locally closely reflects the data produced by health experts. It will be interesting to see if official numbers begin to increase.
A Mayo Clinic model is predicting cases will increase by 39% by Nov. 17 from Nov. 3. The CDC is expecting COVID-related deaths and hospitalizations to remain stable.
